WINDSOR CELEBRATED 100 YEARS IN 2014.

Windsor Croquet Club is one of the most active Association Croquet Clubs in Brisbane. Recently we have gained a very enthusiastic group of new Golf players who are learning fast and are very competitive.  We are a friendly club and, though we have more than our share of top national and international players, we have many players who play croquet less seriously. Visitors and new players are always welcome. We have occasional Come and Try days but enquiries are welcome at any time.  This year we have introduced Sunday Funday for anyone who would like to just have a game or two without any obligations to join.  We run courses, generally on request, for beginners. As well as regular club social play days, the club and members take part in Pennants and other competitions. The club conducts two annual open competitions, the Windsor Cup, and the Windsor Shield.

Association and Golf Croquet social play days are Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. Names have to be in by 12:00 noon and play is from 12:30 to 3:30. Most of us have lunch in the clubhouse beforehand and afternoon tea afterwards.

Members can play at any time that the courts are not otherwise in use or undergoing maintenance.

Green fees are $5.00 per day (max. $10 per week) for members, and $8.00 per day for visitors.

Cards are played on the third Monday of each month from 10.00am to 2.00pm. Cost is $8.00   Phone 3857 6764 on Wednesdays and Saturdays for further information.

A beginners’ course of 6 one hour lessons on ASSOCIATION Croquet costs $60 which includes an introductory booklet.

A beginners’s course for GOLF costs $10 per lessons, number of lessons depend on how quick beginners pick up the game.   Lessons are at times by arrangement, usually on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, and need not be regularly spaced.

Players are welcome to join after 6-8 lessons.

Private events may be arranged for groups by contacting Aileen O’Connor by phone 3865 3828 or email windsor@croquetqld.org. Aileen is happy to give you all the information required.

Finding Us: We are situated on the corner of Blackmore and Lane Streets, Windsor, 400 metres SW of Albion Station.  Coming by car from the City via Lutwyche Road and Albion Road, use Peter Street as there is no right turn from Albion Road into Lane St. Croquet players may park behind the Bowls Club. Coming by train use Albion railway station, not Windsor.
