Ricochet Coaching
Currently there are no formal courses or qualification for Coaches in the sport of Ricochet. Ricochet is a valuable tool in player development and a great sport in its own right.
The Beginner Coach (Association Croquet) course provides new Coaches with the ability to teach the basics of how to hold a mallet, how to hit a a ball and how to run a hoop. There is a need to provide a supplement to this course to provide guidance to Coaches on the basic tactics of Ricochet as they diverge from those of Association.
Association Croquet has been chosen, in preference to Golf Croquet as the basic platform for development, because of its tactical principles of "pioneer", "pivot" and "reception ball". While Golf Croquet places much focus on the position of the single ball, ricochet demands perhaps greater reliance on use of the partner, or opponent ball in establishment of a break.
