Held at the Toombul Croquet Club on August 4/5 2018.
This event was an Inaugural Event held by Croquet Queensland. It incorporated Players of the Phoenix Cup who play mixed doubles as well in their Competition. Overall we had twenty players who competed in a new format. The players were divided into two parts A and B. The draw was that each pair played each other from the A and B.Then two single pairs who would normally play as a bye, played each other. As each pair became a bye player they too played each other. It made good sense and I thought this method quite revolutionary. The players played out for a final in each section.
It was announced the winners of the Phoenix Cup were players from Bribie Island. Lynda Davis and Greg Whymark.
The winner of Block A was Les Watson of Eildon and Rosemary Newsham of Stephens Club and Les scored a TP in his games, Score 4 games.
