Since the start of the school year for 2014 Tweed Heads CC has been involved in a very worthwhile primary school “project”. This involved having a lovely time on the lawns with 27 children in Year 4. Every Friday they are regular visitors for term 1. The children are pupils at the Tweed Heads Public School. They have a 10 minute walk to and from our lawns.

One Friday we even had our Mayor to view the game. Mayor Barry Longland, who is our newly appointed Patron, was able and willing to lend a hand. After selecting his mallet, he joined his team members swinging into action, running hoops while giving great tuition to his year 4 team members. His team won 5 hoops to 2.

A fruit platter was enjoyed, and the Mayor expressed his intention of returning to run the hoops with the children.
