New to croquet? What it is, and how to start
New here?

Never played? That's ok.

Starting something new can be daunting, fortunately our clubs have members who are lovely and welcoming. When you arrive you will be into the swing of it and be playing club days immediately. The game is easy to play but difficult to master. Come to a session, meet the members, and enjoy some games. We look forward to welcoming you.

What croquet is, and how to start

hit the ball through the hoopIt's really quite simple. In principle.
Step one

Grab your mallet

Where to begin

Hold onto your stick, it's time to go hitting. This isn't the usual nice morning walk.

Step two

Choose your target

That threatening Red ball must be hit into the bushes. The tactical decision has been made. Sorry not sorry. That ball is disappearing.

Step three

Execute the shot

With the precision of the King's archer you fire your ball at the Red.

Step four

The happening

Wait? How'd I miss?

The association

The Croquet Association of Queensland

Croquet Queensland is the peak body for the sport in Queensland. We support 41 clubs across seven regions, run state championships across all four codes, develop coaches and referees, and help clubs grow.

Members enjoy playing for every reason there is, from relaxed social mornings to state championships. Beginners are welcome at every club. We have been the home of croquet in Queensland since 1922.
