Bundaberg Croquet Club hosted this years Queensland Bronze Medal round of the Australian Golf Croquet Gold Medal. The weather was brilliant and Bundaberg Club members treated the players and refs to good local hospitality.

The event was managed by Deltry Dickie and Lesley Kavanagh and Sue Green from Bribie was the Tournament Referee. A very big thanks to Sue as she was the only Referee for the three day event. Sue and CAQ wish to thank both Deirdre Giles and Helen Rillie for taking a role as Referees assistants for the tournament to help the managers keep the event on track.

This was a fiercely fought tournament held over 3 days with a full round robin best of 3 match play event.

The final results were very close with Both Peter Nicholson (McIlwraith) and Lawrie Simpson (Eildon) finishing with 6 match wins, however Lawrie had a greater net game result. Rumours are that Lawrie took a liking to the Black ball and played it more than once when he was only expected to master the Red and Yellow pair.

Gordon Giles (Wynnum) was a close third with Geoff Hull and Dennis Green close behind.
