Format
The Tournament will be played as a “Best of Three” 13 point games which will be untimed. If
necessary, games taking an excessive time may be subject to a 15 minute time limit by the
Tournament Manager (TM) in accordance with the Croquet Australia (CA) Tournament
Regulations 16.2
The winner of the Bronze Medal will be the player with the most match wins; if tied, Most Net
Games; if still tied, the Most Net Hoops; if still tied, the winner of the match between the tied
players.
General Conditions of Play
The Tournament is a CAQ event and will comply with the Rules of Golf Croquet, 6th edition
(2022) adopted by Croquet Australia, and the CA Tournament Regulations as of 21st July
2021. (Updated 15th Feb 2023)
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. This tournament is a Level Play event.
Handicap cards must be presented to the TM or delegate at registration and updated
after each game.
The players were ranked by the CAQ Selection Committee in accordance with the
available databases.
A competitor forfeiting a game will be withdrawn; scores for and against will be
deleted from the results, but game results will be computed in rankings and on
handicap cards.
Results of all games played are to be entered on handicap cards.
WCF approved Quadway hoops will be used and set as near as possible to 3 11/16
inches. To allow for inaccuracies in gauges, balls, hoops and setting techniques, a
tolerance of +0,
- 1/32 inch is allowed.
7. WCF-approved Dawson balls will be used.
8. The loser of the previous game will start first in the next game.
9. After the coin toss for the start, a 5-minute warm up period with 2 balls will be
permitted before a player’s first game of the day, when hoops may only be run in a
controlled fashion.
10. Registration will open at 07:00 June 5. Start time is 08:00 each day. Players are
requested to arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes prior to start time.
11. Please provide emergency contact details during registration.
2026 CA Bronze Medal Conditions of Play Page 112. Players will be allowed a short break between games to complete cards and a lunch
break at the TM’s discretion. Match results are to be recorded at the TM’s direction
and signed by both players. The TM and referees will ensure games proceed without
delays to enable completion of the scheduled program.
Management
13. Courts will be allocated for the first game by the TM. Subsequent games are to be
arranged between the players.
14. Please ask the TM for permission to leave the venue during the event.
15. The TM will decide, in consultation with the TR, whether play in any match should
continue if the weather is deteriorating. The CAQ Extreme Weather Policy will apply.
16. The TM, in consultation with Croquet Queensland, may make any alterations to the
program, draw, and other arrangements as are necessary in order to complete the
tournament in the time available.
17. Handicap changes will be effective after completion of any game in which players
pass a trigger point (in accordance with the updated Golf Croquet Handicapping
Regulations 1st January 2014).
18. The TR will resolve all appeals.
19. No late entries will be accepted.
20. Practice may commence after registration on each day, as notified by the TM.
Practice by any player will not be permitted while a Hoop Setter is on any court.
Catering.
Morning and afternoon tea will be provided.
Lunches will be available to order. $7 per sandwich eftpos preferred.
