Open AC Singles & Doubles

The Doubles Championship commence on Saturday 18 Nov, with the finals on Monday 20 Nov.

The Singles Championship will commence on Tuesday 21 Nov, and finish on Sunday 26 Nov.

Prizes & Trophies: The Singles Winner will be presented with the Wall Cup. There is also the A.B. Morrison Encouragement Award for the best player with a World Ranking under 1700 dgrade.

The Doubles Winners will receive the ACA Salvers.

                                                   Catering: Coffee & tea free; lunch & other food/drink available for purchase.

                                                   Closing Date for Entries: Tuesday 31 October (midnight WA time)

Entry Fees - Doubles: $105 per player - if entering the Plate ONLY: $52.50 per player

Entry Fees – Singles: $210 per player - if entering the Plate ONLY: $105 per player

Full time students (under 25) and players aged under 21
at 31 Dec 2023 are entitled to a 50% reduction of the above fees.

If you get an error message, don’t re-do your entry. Events will be in touch with confirmation that you’ve entered (also keep an eye on “Entries” under these events on croquetscores).

Format – Doubles: Format will depend on the actual numbers of entrants, but the Doubles is expected to be initially played as blocks, followed by knockout rounds with best-of-3 or best-of-5 games. Doubles will be played over 3 days.

Format – Singles: Format will depend on the actual numbers of entrants but the Singles is expected to start with a Burridge Swiss, followed by knockout rounds with the best-of-3 or best-of-5 games. Singles will be played over 6 days.

The latest available world AC ranking list will be used for seeding purposes.

Note – Players must be prepared to play at any reasonable time during daylight hours (but there are no longer any lights at VCC). All games are likely to be double banked, except semi-finals and the final (if lawn availability allows).
