Published Fri 30 Dec 2022

Dear sport and recreation colleagues

The Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport is thrilled to announce that a new program will open soon on Tuesday 31 January 2023 – the Minor Infrastructure Program (the program).

The program provides targeted funding to eligible not-for-profit sport or active recreation organisations, Queensland local governments, State Level Organisations and National Sport Organisation operating in Queensland to help the sport and active recreation industry deliver new, upgraded and end of life replacement infrastructure projects and works.

The objective of the program is to enhance community sport and active recreation participation opportunties through the provision of spaces that enable quality, accessible, inclusive, safe and more efficient activity.

Total funding for Round 1 of $14.67 million (GST exclusive) is available to support projects valued up to $1 million with a maximum grant of $415 000 (GST exclusive) (depending on the project location).

The program will include three rounds - 31 January 2023 (Round 1), January 2024 (Round 2) and January 2025 (Round 3).

We encourage you to apply if you feel your organisation can make a difference to help getting more Queenslanders moving, more often.

Applications will open on Tuesday 31 January 2023 and close on Thursday 2 March 2023.
